Directions to rallies and training venues

Coming along A14 southwards towards Huntingdon/Cambridge leave A14 at slip road, signs Stukeleys and Alconbury. First left at small roundabout, past circular MacDonalds, left at next roundabout towards Alconbury village. Coming from A14 northwards towards Peterborough , leave A14 at slip road, signs Alconbury/ Stukeleys, past Truckstop and petrol station. Left at roundabout. From either direction now, drive down the hill, across the next roundabout, under the motorway bridge, and down into the village. At T junction, turn left into High Street. Entrance to lorry park is ahead at dead end, under motorway bridge.

From A505 going east or west, turn off towards Ashwell. Enter village and follow signs. From A198 going south, turn right at sign to Wendy, through Shingay, then in two miles turn left, signs to Steeple Morden and then in two miles into the village of Ashwell. Follow signs.

BOURN VILLAGE HALL

Travelling from the south on the M11 northwards, come off at J12 signed to Sandy. At slip road roundabout take first left. In ½ mile take first right into Barton, through Comberton, Toft, past signs to Kingston and Caldecote, then take next right to Bourn. Keep right at fork, into High Street. Turn second left at Short Street and the Village Hall is immediately on the left.

From A14 coming from the north turn off at J24, Godmanchester signposted Papworth along the A1198 to Caxton Gibbet roundabout – or from the A428 either east (St Neots) or west ( Cambridge/ Madingley) – take the 1198 south from Caxton Gibbet to Caxton. Through Caxton. Don’t take the first left to Bourn – take the second left on the B1046 to Bourn (sign is right to Longstowe). Take first left into Bourn. Straight on into High Street. Turn second left at Short Street and the Village Hall is immediately on the left.

Note – Bourn Village Hall is not Bourn Hall!

Go to Bedford from the south or east by most suitable route. Go west from Bedford on the A428, From Turvey on the A428 (Bedford - Northampton Road) turn off at Carlton. Follow this road for about 2 miles until you reach the centre of the village. At the crossroads turn right signed to Pavenham & Bedford. Come up the long hill and once on top of the hill, Hill House is clearly signed on the right-hand side. Pull into the Farm over a green cattle grid and follow on down the drive. On arrival, please park and sign in.

From the A14 via west or east, leave at A10, signposted Ely, Milton and Cambridge. Follow signs to Ely staying on the A10. Turn left signposted Landbeach. Carry straight on through Landbeach, and as you are leaving the village turn left into Cottenham Road, signposted Cottenham. In about 2 miles the Racecourse is on the right. 

Alternatively, from A14 west, leave at Junction 30 signposted Oakington and Cottenham. Straight through Oakington and Westwick, at mini-roundabout turn right into Cottenham. Turn left at theGreen and at next mini-roundabout turn left. At the war memorial turn right (Chequers pub). Follow road for approximately one mile and turn left into Racecourse.

From the A10 coming from Ely, after the roundabout by Cambridge Research Park (on right going south) keep going straight on for about 1/2 mile and then take the filter lane to turn right into Green Lane, signposted Landbeach and Cottenham. (Take care oncoming fast traffic). On the outskirts of Landbeach, before you enter the village, take the right hand turn to Cottenham down Cottenham Road. In about 2 miles the Racecourse is on the right.

From A1 going north, leave A1 (one mile after major turns off to Peterborough etc.) just after petrol station, signed Chesterton. At T Junction turn left along A605 over the flyover to A1 and at first roundabout turn right into Showground. From A1 going south, leave A1 (one mile after the two signs left to Water Newton) along A605 towards Peterborough, signed Show Ground. InAlwalton village at T junction to the A605, turn left and at next roundabout turn right into Showground.

On the outskirts of Little Downham, just north off the A10. The easiest access route is via the A10 to the Littleport roundabout at the junction with the A1101, Wisbech, outside Littleport, turn towards Wisbech but immediately on leaving the roundabout turn sharp left down Black Bank Road. After 1 mile this road crosses the railway line at a level crossing and shortly after meets another road at the T junction. Turn right at this junction and the Eventing Centre is a few hundred yards away on the left hand side. From Ely direction on A10, going towards Wisbech and Littleport by-pass, at roundabout turn left, sign to Little Downham on B1411. Into the village, andthen turn right at village green going out of the village; keep left and the Centre is on the left in two miles.

From east and west direction on A428, at Caxton Gibbet roundabout (Chinese Restaurant and Shell petrol station on each corner), turn south on A1198 towards Caxton. In village at bottom of the hill, turn right along Gransden road, and after new housing on right turn right along St Peter’s St. In about 500 metres turn left up concrete road into Firs Farm. From south and Royston direction on A1198, come into the village of Caxton and turn left at cross roads down Gransden Rd and after new housing on right turn right along St Peter’s St. In about 500 metres turn left up concrete road into Firs Farm.

This is located in Croydon on the B1042 between Tadlow and Wimpole. It can be found on the right when approaching from the Bedford/Sandy/Wrestlingworth direction and on the left from the Cambridge direction. Take care when turning into the yard as traffic tends to travel at high speed on this road.

On A10 from Cambridge direction, after level crossing at Foxton go past right turn to Shepreth, at second sign right to Shepreth and left to Melbourne, turn left down Cambridge Road towards Melbourne. Second left into Fowlmere Road. Continue down single track road for approx 1/2 mile and turn right on corner into Fox Field Farm. On A10 from Royston direction, go past two signs right into Melbourn, and at signs left to Shepreth and right to Melbourn turn right into Cambridge Road towards Melbourne. Second left into Fowlmere Road. Continue down single track road for approx 1/2 mile and turn right on corner into Fox Field Farm.

Haggis Farm is situated on the A603 on the left, just before the turns onto the M11 comingfrom the Barton direction. From M11 North or South leave at Junction 12 and turn towards Barton, Sandy . From the North, leave at Junction 12, turn right at roundabout, past left sliproad to M11 South and then straight on at roundabout and turn immediately right into the farm just after the right turn to the M11 North. From the South, leave at Junction 12, turn left at roundabout and then immediately right into the farm. It is well signed.

Hare Park is off the A1304 between Six Mile Bottom and Newmarket.

From A11 travelling North East come off at the exit signed Newmarket and Six Mile Bottom. Go right through Six Mile Bottom and on about 1 mile. ** There is a small piece of dual carriageway (more of a grassy split in the road. Exactly at the beginning of this on the left is the driveway marked 'Allington Hill and Hare Park' Go right up the long drive following signs.

From the A14 come off at the Stow cum Quy junction (signed Newmarket). Continue 1 mile towards Newmarket and turn right just past the Prince Albert pub.(signed the Wilbrahams, Six Mile Bottom) Keep on this road for 3 miles to the cross roads by the Green Man pub on the A1304. Turn left onto the A1304 and go out of the village towards Newmarket for 1 mile. Follow directions from ** above.

From Newmarket: Take the A1304 London/six Mile Bottom Road from the National Stud roundabout (the one with the rearing stallion statue). Follow the A1304 for about 2 miles past the Dullingham turn. You will see ahead the grassy split in the road forming a short piece of dual carriageway. CAUTION It is suggested that you signal right and pull out at the beginning of this so no one can overtake you as the right turn into the drive is exactly at the end of the split. There is a white cottage on the corner of the drive marked 'Allington Hill and Hare Park'. Follow the signs right up the long drive.

From west along A603 towards Cambridge after Wimpole and Orwell, turn right at cross roads (signs left to the Eversdens; pub on right, garage on left) and into Harlton. At village green and pond, keep left at fork and the entrance to the field is on the left in 100 metres. From east on A603, from Cambridge after Barton, and radar dishes turn left into Harlton (single track road !) and the entrance to the field is on the right.

HAWCROFT FARM (Emma Pilsworth)

From A14 at Bar Hill: over the flyover, keep left and head for Longstanton. Straight on until the last roundabout, bear left, signposted at ground level Over. Continue along this road, over a railway bridge and past a windmill, through the traffic calming with an industrial site on the left, then past a pond on the right hand side, then take the third turning on the right into Glover Street. *

From A14 Swavesey(Cambridge Services): over the flyover to Swavesey. Straight thought Swavesey, over the railway line and up the hill. Take the turning on the right into new road, through the traffic calming, then take the next left into Glover Street. *

* From Glover Street, continue straight down past the war memorial on the left, the school on the left, village green on the right. Straight across the staggered cross roads into Fen End. Follow the road, past Cambridge Joinery on the left and a pond on the right. Slow down as you are approaching Hawcroft Farm on the left which is signed. Some parking on the lane opposite (please check first with Emma).

LORDSBRIDGE [CB3 7/ TL406561]

Lordsbridge Arena is located on the A603, two miles from Junction 12 off the M11 in the direction of Sandy. Look for big white gates from the road on the right, and white sign saying Lordsbridge.

MANOR FARM EQUESTRIAN CENTRE, HOUGHTON [PE28 2DY]

A14 from Cambridge turn off at Spittal’s Interchange J23 for Brampton. Turn right for Huntingdon – A141. Keep going straight on and take the A1123 towards St Ives. First left, and then right, and Manor Farm is on your right. Or second left onto the B1090 and Manor Farm is about 500 yards on the left. From either direction, go slowly, as the entrance is hard to see - there is no sign.

MELDRETH MANOR [SG8 6/ TL375466]

On A10 from Cambridge direction, over level crossing at Foxton, then turn off right in 1 mile to Shepreth. Keep left as you go through the village, past left turn High Sreet and follow Meldreth Road towards Meldreth. In Meldreth itself, go past High Street turn on left straight on down Fenny Lane, and entrance is on left. On A10 from Royston direction, turn right towards Melbourn, and into Melbourn. Follow sign right to Meldreth, under A10 and into Meldreth. At fork, bear right down High Street and at T junction left down Fenny Lane. Entrance is then on left

From the A14 going east, after Milton roundabout and towards Ely on A10, through first traffic lights, in 200 metres turn right into Milton and you will see horse fields on left. Turn next left and left again into the College. From Ely direction on A10 after Stretham, Chittering, Waterbeach, coming into Milton immediately after the turn right to Landbeach, on left you will see the horse fields. Turn next left and left again into the College.

MOATS WAY EQUESTRIAN (Claire Dodson) [PE28 9HH]

Travelling on the A14 East Bound leave the A14 at Junction 25 for Hemingford Abbots.  Take the next left. At T Junction turn left, over the flyover and past golf course on left.  Take the next road on left Moats Way. This comes BEFORE the left turn onto the 14 WEST BOUND!  Continue past the bungalow on the left and look for the silver gate onto a hardcore road on the right hand side.                                    

NORTH BROOK END EQUESTRIAN CENTRE (Sarah-Jane Backhouse)

From Cambridge take the A603 or the A10 South to join the A505 at Royston. From Royston on A505 south west, travel 3.5 miles, take turning on right (west to Odsey and Ashwell. Follow the road through the villages to Steeple Morden (approx 3 miles). Go through Steeple Morden along North Brook End. At the end of the road before the T-junction the yard is situated on the left.

A1 northbound take the first exit or A1 southbound take the third exit off the roundabout (opposite Sainburys) onto the B658 to Shefford and Old Warden. At the next roundabout by G & M Growers Farm Shop go straight over into Hill Lane sign posted to Old Warden. Follow the road for approx 1 mile past a turning on the right to Ickwell. On entering Old Warden village take the next right sign posted Mount Pleasant Equine Centre up a concrete drive through fields. Follow the road round to the left and the equine centre is on the right hand side. Please park on the left in the concrete bays.

South Cambs Equestrian Centre is signposted from the A10 at Foxton. Take the turning opposite the Q8 petrol station signposted for Barrington. On the fourth sharp bend off Foxton Road turn left through a set of green gates, follow the drive right to the end to come onto the yard. From Barrington village - Leave the village following signs for Foxton past the church on the left, the entrance is on the first sharp bend on the right.

From whatever direction travel via B1040 to Gamlingay. Leaving village going north on Waresley Road, B1040 after Mill Street, left along Cinques Road towards Gamlingay Cinques, keeping left at the fork in 2 miles. At crossroads, turn left and then first right into Tetworth.

From M11 going north, leave motorway at exit 11. At slip road roundabout, take third exit towards Trumpington/Cambridge. From M11 going south , leave motorway at exit 11. At slip road roundabout, take first exit left towards Trumpington/Cambridge. Either way, then follow road through several traffic lights, past Park and Ride, Waitrose entrance, past turn off to Grantchester, a Shell garage on the left and then an Esso petrol station on the right. Just after Esso station on right, turn left into Winchmore Drive; in 50 metres turn right into entrance. Trumpington Hall has three entrances. Please use only this entrance.

From M11 going north, leave motorway at exit 13. At slip road traffic lights, turn right along Madingley Road A1303 through first traffic lights (Park and Ride), and then turn right in 100 metres into the Cambridge University site and follow signs to Vet School. From Madingley Road, going towards Cambridge, cross over M11 fly-over at traffic lights at bottom of Madingley Hill, continue through next traffic lights, past Park and Ride on left, and then in 100 metres turn right into the Cambridge University site and follow signs to Vet School .

On A1, travelling north, go past left turn to Wansford, take next left off the A1, A47 (signed Peterborough and Leicester.) Turn right at roundabout signed towards Leicester. Go past right turn to Thornhaugh, take the next right turn to Wittering. Wittering Grange is then on the right in about one mile.

On A1, travelling south, after Stamford roundabout, and turn to Barnack, take next exit signs A47 to Leicester and Peterborough. (Do not take right turn to Wittering, as this will take you through the village.) At T junction with A47, turn right down A47 towards Leicester. Go past right turn in one mile to Thornhaugh, and take the next right turn to Wittering. Wittering Grange is then on the right in about one mile.
