Our President, Liz Pickard was presented with the British Horse Society Award of Merit in 1999 by Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal, then President of the Society. The Award of Merit is given for outstanding services to the British Horse Society. As well as her service to the BHS, Liz – known to all as ‘Miss P’, a name which she now confesses, she has always hated - taught at Pony Club, ran her famous riding school for more than thirty years, and, one way and another, has been responsible for teaching most of Cambridgeshire to ride.

We are very fortunate indeed in having her as President of our Pony Club, and over the years she has been, and continues to be, a strong influence for excellence in riding and all aspects of horsemanship. Everyone involved with horses in this area knows, respects, and is inspired by her.
